National Lifeguard - Pool Option & AMOA

The National Lifeguard Pool certification is designed to develop the fundamental values, judgment, knowledge, skills and fitness required by lifeguards. The National Lifeguard course emphasizes the lifeguarding skills, principles and practices, and the decision-making processes which will assist the lifeguard to provide effective safety supervision in swimming pool environments. Airway Management and Oxygen Administration (AMOA) is included. Prerequisites: Bronze Cross, Standard First Aid with CPR-C (need not be current) from one of the following agencies: Lifesaving Society, Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Red Cross, Canadian Ski Patrol or St John Ambulance. Candidates must bring proof of prerequisites on the first day of the course. 15 years of age by the last day of the course. There is a 100% attendance policy in place for this course, which is not flexible. Required Course Material: The Alert Manual and Lifeguard Tool Kit are required for this course (available for purchase at the time of registration).
